Who are you? Is that something you can really answer? Throughout your nomadic existence you could never truly answer that question. You are like clay; you can mold yourself into whatever you please in order to fool the common masses. I envy that power of yours. You make yourself flawless, proper, and intelligent. Broken StringIf I was a broken piano key,
I wouldn't want the world to fix me.
I think I might be tarnished ivory,
But I don't really mind at all.

I wanna be a broken string,
I want to sing a different tune,
I don't want a perfect melody,
I don't ever want to play
In a philharmonic orchestra.

Just strap me onto a broken guitar,
Or leave me in my banged up piano,
Because they have a quality that's rare,
They have been loved,
Through the sea of time,
And that love has broken them.

Who writes in the dark

Who barely see's what's going down

With the pills in her hand
who doesn't know what it's like to be gone
Feel.You can`t.
You can`t feel what I felt.

Rip out your heart.
Pull out your spine
Tear yourself apart.
Then you`ll come close.

Torn apart
Broken
Unfixable.

That`s how you made me feel.
With your words.
They reached inside me.
pierced my soul.

But now it`s different.
I have the chance
to tear you apart.
But I don`t.

It would mean being like you.
Being cold.
and dead.
But I want to live.

So I forgive instead.
Stupid BlondeWhy, yes.
I do pick up books.
And thank you for thinking I hold them upside down or I can't even finish the first page.
 
Why, yes.
I do math.
And thank you for thinking I can't long divide or that numbers shave my mind blank.
 
Why, yes.
I can write.
And, again, thank you for thinking I can't use a pen or that I <rite tings liek dis>
Why dont you take a label maker and slap it right on my forehead? All to see and all to share?

Maybe a pawn in your conversation, or ideas just easily ignored.
A voice filtered upon arrival and spilled down the drain to wash away, carried to a place where rubbish seals any whisper left to fade.
Voices become whispers, and whispers become the helpless echos of ideas shed free of a mind that is as fully functional as yours,
My friend, it is but you who label me with a permanent marker, that set my skys with the bleakest ink.

Nature's True FormStranded
On this island
Surrounded by nature
So cunningly beautiful
Luring you in.
Once you step from the shore
The safe harbour that brought you here
Nature does reveal its true from.
Beautiful to lure you in
Though at its core
Nature is a dangerous
Merciless
Being
That lured you in
From your safe harbour.
Stranded on this island
With nothing but you
Your thoughts only focused on survival
An attempt at fleeing
Your heart so filled with fear
That renders it useless.
Stranded
In this strange land
Surrounded by natures true from
Only then does your true form come through.

Bruised knees drawn up book in hand
Surrounded by cascading towers of paper backs
And a sea of empty tea cups with chipped edges
Folded into a chrysalises of sonnets and haphazard haiku's

To cynicism

Porcelean DollHung upon a shelf

lies a porcelean figure

inside shows oneself

broken and disfigured

her cold glass skin

waiting for arms embrace

shows what lies within

her stone cold face

hidden beneath that hollowed smile

longs for a chance

for something worthwhile

A raise in advance

From her darkest days

and through the eyes

shines hopes rays

trying to disguise

the empty, saddened dreams

awaiting to come alive

free the silenced screams

so she's not deprived

from her twisted smle

If you were mindless, blind,
you and I could make a beautiful disaster.
The press would write of our brief affair;
they'd paint me (the woman in red) as pathetic.
They will not consider how I need your love
or how it pains me so deeply to throw myself at you.
I will not be remembered as a poet warrior.
I'll be the eternal survivor no more.
All who think of me will shake their bowed heads
and tearfully remark;
 If only you were soulless.
 If you were mindless, blind,
 You wouldn't have been such a bloody disaster.

There were five, in the beginning.

Great God, this is an awful place.

Snow looks like canvas.

The long walk

after the failure.

The howling wind rings in their ears

along with their shame.

I wonder if we can do it.

Somewhere,

there is a victory march proceeding,

with gleaming trumpets

and Norwegian flags.

But it is not here.

Five.

The sun shines brightly, but there is little warmth in it.

Birdie-

maybe he cried out as the ground gave way.

But no one heard him.

Now there are only blackened fingers

and a hollowed mind.

He declared, as he always did, that he was quite well.

White-

relentless

Providing dreams through the night air
Sleeping soundly with thoughts of you
missing the fire of a love so true

A phantom’s kiss, an invisible in brace,
A  soothing song from some secret place
I fill the void with laughter and literature
Waiting for when my loving gaze you’ll capture

I long for the warmth of your soft skin,
not sure where my body ends and you begin
Imagining you at night when I’m lonely
Wishing you were here to hold me

Companions join me through me daily journeys
their company is quite enough to appease
Until the sun sets and my desire rises with the moon

To easily give her heart away -
To someone that makes a promise,
That he will forever stay...

I'm not the kind of girl
That would break her word and leave -
I hold my vows sacred to my chest,
And would do anything within my power...

But when I look at you,
I forget that the world exists -
My soul knows only you
And I never want to glance away...

You captivate me.
My fantasies are never justice enough...
For the smile upon your face,
Or the gleam in your eye...

That wants to love you forever,
And always remain by your side...

TrustThere is an air of tension during breakfast. Instead of the usual chatter,  there is silence. Velia keeps trying to start up small talk, but it dies down quickly. Tule and Gladius both look like they haven't sleep a wink. I pick at my food, not at all hungry.

Stolen from the Light

There was a girl
an innocent girl
until the dark stole her
from the light

And the dark broke her

It washed the colour from her eyes
and replaced the green with gold
Her world bent over backwards
because she no longer saw the light
only the dark

And then everyone shut her out

When she smiled, it was no longer an innocent smile
Nothing could hurt her anymore
Because if it did
She’d hit back

And then the dark toyed with her

She played with men
She played with their minds
until they broke too
She was no longer innocent

And then she gave up a part of herself

She stopped feeling one thing there was left to feel;
guilt
Because she finally accepted
That the dark had stolen her
The dark had stolen her from the Light

My second poem in six years.
I think I did okay with this one. Inspired by Beautiful Creatures. And Ridley's claiming.
